Still doesn't seem right that he's gone....even though I only knew him through Mandy and FB, he still felt like a part of my life and I absolutely loved the videos they would post. John's sense of humor was second to none, IMO, and those videos never failed to make me laugh.

We love you, Mandy!! We miss you, John! Rest in peace, friend!!

The first videos I saw of Big John. I never met him but he was good player and seemed like a pleasant fellow.

Crap poop heck fudge tartar sauce!!

Never met Big John. Sure wish I had. A fantastic guy by all evidence, amply displayed here at the ol' TDPRI. John was one of the standard bearers of the decency and humor that this corner of the intermess holds, and helped to make it one of the 0.12% of guitar boards that are not cesspools of immature, belligerent behaviour. < note the spelling ;)

Dang. I could quote about nine posts above... they pretty much say what I would like to. He was really a great guy. The badass pickin' was a bonus.

Mandy Marie, I'm sending giant big ol' healing cyber hugs to you, from this big ol' Midwestern boy. Wish I could do something for you, for real. I'm thinking of you, and also of all of John's family and friends. He had tons of friends; it's evident here.

Life ain't fair. His time here was a blessing to us all

Very sorry to hear. John sure was an unbelievable player, and it seems he was just as good a man. Thoughts going out to Mandy Marie.

I'm sorry to hear of this. John was a real fixture here at TDPRI. It's obviously hard to know someone by reading posts on an internet forum, but he seemed like a great guy. Thoughts and prayers for his wife, Mandy and his family and friends.
