The JJ in that video is definitely my favorite looking JJ. Cute and sexy at the same time.

What year is that? I think she has had so much cosmetic surgery she barely resembles her former self...

Joan Jett is a guitar player. She has fronted several bands. She has had some big-time radio hits, and sold a lot of records.

She is a performing artist who can - and has often - rocked an audience larger than you guys can even dream of playing for.

But what are you hung up on? You are talking about how "cute", "foxy (are you kidding me?)" and "sexy" she is.

I have never heard any one of you use those terms describing a man who plays guitar.

 

You must not talk to many women, who ARE the ones who say the EXACT same things about male guitar players/singers.

I respect Joan Jett's guitar playing, songwriting, vocals, and being the front woman of a straight ahead r&r band, but I also think she has one of the prettiest faces I've ever seen, especially when she opens up those beautiful eyes. I don't think she would mind that compliment at all, either. It's not like I'd stand a chance with her! She plays for the other team....not that there's anything wrong with that (Seinfeld reference).

I was lucky enough to see her in Biloxi, MS around 30 years ago. She ran the show like the pro she is.

Gotta give her props for sticking with the Gibson Melody Maker. Definitely a stripped down, "meh" model of a guitar. The way they make the headstock straight (& ugly IMHO), just to save a few $'s on wood. You can get a standard MM for under $500. You can even find late 50's, early '60's vintage models for less than Jett's signature! I bought just a regular red MM in 2007, when they had them available with one P90....but it bored me so much, I didn't mind letting it go. I'd rather have a mid-high level Epiphone.











She also has an ES339 signature in "Cherry Red"....Always liked the smaller size of the 339, compared to the monster 335.

 

I, for one, have said a male guitar player was “cute”, “foxy”, or “sexy” or even thought so.

Now, Joan Jett is a different story. Super sexy guitar player. There, I didn’t say “female guitar player”

 

60s Epiphone. Maybe the Gibson Melody Maker was boring.

 

This sounds like your guitar. Most Melody Makers ever made are Mahogany except your model and the 2011ish-2013ish that were maple.
