66 hours so far, the first day was the hardest, I'm trying for 7. I'm doing it for the medical benefits and weight loss... wish me well...

    Fasting from water?

Beer is still a green light, right?

    Fasting is good
A surprising benefit can be realized by just fasting till dinner (no breakfast or lunch) one or more days a week

If you are water fasting it means you are not drinking, right, fasting from water.

A dry fast is the one where you don't eat or drink...

I would call that a food fast , not eating.
    Water fasting, not drinking.
Makes more sense linguistically to me, but hey I am way behind in the food fads.
    How about everyday portion control?

So you haven't eaten anything for almost three days and your shooting for 7? That doesn't sound good...

Everyday portion control = everyday nutrient control...

I am getting closer to my goal weight after dieting in one form or another for the past three years.

    My health is improving.

I remember in high school wrestling we had that.
I had to lose 16 lbs to go to another weight class since
    that was empty.

Ice cubes and honey for 1 week and running with plastic gym suit.

I'm following protocol set by Dr Mindy Pelz and Dr Jason Fung, with some of Dr Stan Ekberg's advice thrown in.

Well, I'm not a doctor... but wouldn't that amount of fasting cause your body to start eating into muscle for fuel? Maybe not... Sounds intense in any case. Good luck!

    Thanks...

But, the body eats good tissue as a last resort... I am in a phase of fasting called 'Autophagy"...

Autophagy is the body's way of cleaning out damaged cells, in order to regenerate newer, healthier cells, according to Priya Khorana, PhD, in nutrition education from Columbia University. “Auto” means self and “phagy” means eat. So the literal meaning of autophagy is “self-eating.”Aug 23, 2018

The autophagy maxes out at around the 72 hour mark and then starts looking for fuel that was stored long ago...

I once broke a week-long fast by going to an Indian restaurant and eating their spiciest dishes. I felt like I was on speed afterward!

Oh, and I am down 4lbs so far since starting the fast, but, I won't consider it actual weight lost until a couple of weeks after the fast...
