    Choose your utility provider carefully?

I don't know what else to say, other than maybe "see you and your jeans at Crested Butte":twisted:

In all seriousness I hope you enjoy it down there!

    Very cool.
Out of curiosity, which electricity provider did you choose?
My cousin is in Ft. Worth.
Apparently, there are folks getting treated pretty badly by some of the utilities providers.

So where are you abiding...which city ? I have kin in Austin, Grapevine, and Bedford (a Ft. Worth suburb). I lived/worked in Ft. Worth area myself for a couple of years. Really liked the D/FW area...lots going on year round; rarely a boring weekend.

I like Austin, the most un-Texan of Texas places. Hope the move is good for you!

Reminds me of the old joke - Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, you'll know. If he's not, there's no sense in insulting him. :D

I full time RV so have no utility bills!

If you stay less than a month at most RV parks, which I do, no electric bill!

If you buy a house, you'll make up for it though. Property taxes are high, they need the revenue somehow.

No digs at the TDPRI Texans intended, but I'll tell you... it's a decent idea in New Mexico and Colorado to keep the fact that you're originally from Texas to yourself. The reputation tends to precede you.

    Here in Florida it's Gator-this or Gator-that. In Nebraska, it's Husker-this or Husker-that.

Watching the reasonable, rational, common sense things going on in Texas from my vantage point here in insane, gutted, looted, locked down clown world New York, makes this 5th generation Texan more than just a little homesick.....

That is a good area/location. Don't know what you're looking for, but that area there has a lot to offer as far as outdoor recreation and close to, yet far enough away from some major cities.

I spent 7 years in Dallas at the start of my career and still have my Texas CPA license, but the career eventually took me elsewhere, several times. One of my daughters decided to move to Austin a couple of years ago, so I still have a connection. Will be visiting soon.
