    Hi.

I'm seeking asylum as a refugee. I've come from Strat-Talk. And as you all have been kind enough to welcome those of us who've been left out on the street like yesterday's garbage...

I thought I should formally introduce myself.

I'm rolandson, as in son of roland. I live in the Pacific Northwest of North America in a city called Portland.

I'm a classically trained, former university science instructor, who spent a career in the music industry both on and back stage. I play trumpet, piano, cello, and guitar of course.

Full disclosure: I don't actually have a Telecaster. I've one for-real Strat, two partscasters, a Gibson archtop, a couple of classicals, and a Danelectro.

Can I stay here please? It's cold outside.

Welcome, I heard the HMS Strat Talk went down just off the coast. Strat players have been washing up on shore all week...

Some great folks aboard the Strat Talk. *removes hat stares downward, dabs tear.

    Welcome.

Think of it as just one more reason to get a new guitar :)

Welcome! I too was on Strattalk for a minute or two. Haven’t looked back since. Stick around for awhile.

Welcome Rolandson! I live in both worlds. I think you'll find this a friendly place. There is a stratocaster sub forum here if you haven't found it yet.

This is irritating. I can't even get on our site at all now. How some of them are getting through (about every 10 minutes or so) is beyond me. The last thing I saw, except for a post or two this morning, was Friday night's Jim Campilongo changing his strings. Yes, it was great. I was all agog. I am amongst people who understand that... That's what this is all about.

Are you sure you’re from Strat-Talk? You seem too well adjusted. I really enjoyed talking to some of the crazies from over there the last time this happened.

No worries, though. You are very welcome here:)

Welcome.....and you don't actually have to have a Telecaster to be here. Just, if someone says anything, say you're researching which Tele to get....that usually shuts people up and they'll leave you alone for a while.
But.....since you ARE here, you should know there's a bunch of us "recovering" Strat players around. I haven't had mine out of the closet and case in ages....just no need! I installed a middle pickup in my Tele for those rare occasions I want that "Strat-quack" kinda sound, but otherwise I'm good with my two Bootstrap Tele pickups. Telecasters are actually good for your soul.....they're such honest and sincere workhorses, it's like a "salt of the earth" guitar. ;)

I figured I'd find some other Strat-Talkers here. It feels good to be in from the cold.

Welcome Son of Roland! You may not have a Tele now but it won't be long now that you're here.

There have been a few Strat-Talkers coming around; system issues again today I see.

Welcome - many of us, including me, have Strats!

Yeah, strat talk is at the bottom of the Pacific at the moment. Whether or not they try to raise her from the depths has yet to be seen.

Welcome, this is a very open group. If you can talk music at all, and from what you play that’s not a problem, you will fit right in here.

Don't be alarmed but we do ask that all strats go through the wood chipper. :p It's an 'earnest offering' if you will...
