Back in the day when someone came up with a quick one nighter/weekend gig, we'd sometimes throw a band together and give the band a goofy name. Anybody else do this...

    Names we've used...

Ball Park Frank & the Hot Dogs
    Pear Shaped Fruit
Johnny Mucus & the Phlegm Tones (cough!)

Deep Fried Beer (blues/country/rockabilly w/extra grease)
Candy Assed Pansies (80's college rock)
Elrod Hubberd and the Zukos (same as Deep Fried Beer music wise)
The Skinny Tie Brigade (late 70's powerpop)

OK, I had a one gig band called Total Scrotum.

I had another, but I'm afraid to say it here!

I won’t take the blame for these, and you’ll have to fill in the blanks To make it worse, electric wah mandolin was involved. And Nirvana.

Oops, almost forgot an annual outdoor party band, "Geezer" we were going to do a t-shirt the that read... GEEZER Turn that crap down! You call that music?

Another band swiped that name from us and they knew it!

    Go Turkey (Dad rock covers)
    The In Trays (art-rock skiffle)

Couldn't think of names till the 11th hour and these were items at hand in rehearsals.
'Go Turkey' was a holiday brochure in the school music room we used. The In Trays practiced in an office..

In the early 80's I was in a 3 piece band playing social clubs on weekends under the lame name of Second Chance. Weekday evenings we played pub rock/rhythm blues by the name of Jimmy Riddle and the Pisspots. Very happy days :)
