so I have a Contemporary Series Squier Tele with H-H pickups. I replaced the stock ones with a Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge and a Jazz humbucker in the neck. All was well. Now I've added a push-pull on the tone pot to split both coils. That works great too. The problem is the Bridge isn't putting out the volumne nearly like the Neck is. The bridge is measuring 15.7k and the neck 7k, so with the tone pot in the down position, the Bridge should be at least as loud, if not well louder than the Neck. Since the output is measuring correctly, I know it must be the switch or a pot, but I can't figure out what/why.

First things first is recheck all your solder joints. That usually solves this sort of issue.

Right. Checked all of those, all are secure and I don't see any unshielded wires touching where they shouldn't be.

Side note: they need to make these Tele control cavities about twice as big as they are. And pickup companies should be tarred and feathered for using whatever gauge wire is used in 4 conductor pickup wire.

Assuming it's happening also when control plate is not in place, outside the cavity? Sometimes wires are being pressed wrong way in that tight space.

What does the DCR of the coil split engaged measurement read ? I mean, you provided 7.0K for the Neck & 15.7K for the Humbucker Bridge. Expectations should be around 7.85K ? But that's an unverified assumption.

If you have shielding in the control cavity, make sure none of the solder tabs on the switch is making contact with the shielding.

And, you did connect the red and white wires from the bridge pickup together, and soldered that connection to the split switch, right?

with the coil split engaged, I have 8.3 at the bridge, 3.25 in the middle position, and 5.34 at the neck (I have a resistor wired in for the PRS/Fralin coil split method)

no shielding in there. Heck, I don't think there's even room left for a unicorn's fart in there lol. Yes I did solder the two series wires together and then connected them to the push/pull. But in my case, since I wanted the outside coils to be active, I soldered white and green together as per Seymour Duncan tech assist.

OK, it appears the coil split is wired in to effect both Humbuckers & make them both operate as single coils. I was under the impression that you were after a coil split for just the Bridge, still retain the neck as a Humbucker. As it is right now, would you want the neck to drop anything below 5.34K, because 8.3K (akmost P90 wound count) seems pretty strong single coil vs a 5.34K neck. Sounds like it's a very usable coil split.
