We had a good time. Two weeks in a condo in Florida, approximately 100 feet from the Gulf of Mexico. This was a working vacation for me; I worked four days during those two weeks so my projects would not get too far behind. It was hot; we won't go there again unless it is during the winter. It was wonderful.

    Now, the bad part.

The rental car. We paid for a premium car; the rental placed said "An Audi A5 (or similar). I really wanted that Audi. We got an Infinity Q50. I did not like that car - at all.

My wife's laptop blue screened and would not boot during our trip. She had all her Emails and itineraries on that machine. It was fortunate she also downloaded the airline app to her phone. I am backing it up now to recover the boot sectors. I just went through this with a work client; I am starting to hate laptops and desktops.

One of my side jobs is going critical. I did not have the chance to address it on vacation. I will be busy this week as a result.

It's good to be back - sort of. It is going to be a busy few weeks.

I can empathize. It’s brutally hot here with no breeze or rain.

We were on Sanibel Island, southwest Florida. There was a small breeze, and mostly it wasn't too bad on the beach. A few days the sun was pelting our midwest hides like no tomorrow.

I cannot imagine what it must be like for you.

This is the time of the year it feels like Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, & Miami all rolled into one. It’s usually for 7-10 days but we’re entering week 4 of the doldrums.

We used to go to Sanibel and loved it

My wife's laptop was easy. I just had to roll back the last update.

Of course, I went to the command prompt first and backed up everything, just in case. That took 5 hours.

    At least it's working.

Sorry to hear that @unixfish . It sounds like a Catch-22. Vacations are rare and far apart. Now you’ll need a real vacation in a few weeks after you “catch” up.
