I just joined the forum this week so it is time to say hello to everybody.

I am mainly an acoustic guitarist (my main one is an Apee Model 1 by Antoine Payen), but I have had several electrics over the years: Danelectro Pro 56, Guild Starfire III, Fender Lead I and Godin LGX. I kept none of those but it helped me to define my need: single coils, no tremolo, possibility to have both pickups either in parallel or in serie, light weight but semi acoustic (I do not play loud so I do not like hearing the acoustic sound of the guitar when I play amplified). I have always been enclined to the Telecaster but discovering Ed Bickert and more recently Julian Lage and Bill Frisell convined me that I could find any sound I want in a Telecaster.

As a result, I am currently assembling a Thinline:
    - Second hand Fender Thinline Elite body
    - Fender CS Nocaster pickups
    - 4 ways switch
    - An used cheap neck while waiting for deciding what kind of neck I want (probably maple)

Other than the neck choice, I still wonder if I will keep the 0.022 cap value. Time will tell...

A second-hand Elite body? And a Thinline Elite?

    I never heard of that.

Most people who buy Elites don’t split body and neck.

I admit that it also looked strange to me but the guy I bought it from bought it from The Stratosphere and it looks genuine (well I doubt that anybody would choose to not to copy such a bridge design) and even if not, the price/quality ratio is enough for me.

La plume et sur la table.

    Je m'appelle Ira.

Ou et la salle de bain?

(I love to impress our French members with my incredible knowledge of speaking French. Which is those three sentences, and a few dirty ones.)

Not bad except made one mistake. "Et" is for "and", you should have written "est" for "is".

To be true, I would be glad if all French people do not make the mistake. I am always impressed of the high misspelling in French forums whereas it is so low on english ones.

...and they kiss on Main Street.

Bienvenue, I must have been close to Toulouse as I’ve driven down to Carcassonne and Narbonne. Long way down!

    I swear to God:

I took 3 years of Junior High School French and a year of High School French, and aced my classes. I even got a few awards.

A year after graduating, I couldn't understand a single sentence. We smoked a lot of weed in high school.
