I know this is probably a subject that has been beat to death, but what pedals did Waylon Jennings use? I know he used a Phase 90 and a Maestro PS-1a phase shifter. But what else did he use? Here's Austin City limits in 1984. That is not just a Phase 90 and the in amp reverb. It could be a Maestro PS-1a but I can't tell for sure.

The next time he played Austin City Limits he used some kind of chorus pedal which you cna plainly hear. My guess would be an something combined with a Phaser. I say MXR because you can plainly see an orange box on top of his amp at times.

Furthermore, I'm pretty sure he used an overdrive of some kind when he was with The Highwaymen in 1990. Just listen to the tone he gets in this clip from when they played at the Nassau Coliseum. That doesn't sound like just a cranked amp to me...maybe I'm crazy.

Mostly some kinda phaser, small stone, 90 or the like. The other things were not standard in his rig, ive even heard him play a fuzz before, not sure what recording but im sure of it.

I know he used it on "Six Strings Away" back in the '68. The original Fuzzface was 2 years old.

I got a chinese phasor for less then 20 bucks off of ebay and it sounds great . I do a few Waylon tunes and occasionally when I listen to old country I hear that sound and it is a perfect fit .

If you watch the videos you can see a certain single-knob-orange-stomp box on top of his amp.

Just curious which one did you choose? There are a lot of options.

I got a Phase 95 and use it on the Phase 90 setting with the Script setting on. The Script MUST be on. It works and sounds perfect for songs like.
