New poster, very long time lurker (i might even have had an account from 10 years ago which i evidently didn't remember)
is there anything as violent and gated as the waveshaper from the SYB-3/5?

boutique or mainstream i don't care, i just want options :)

    thanks in advance

You gotta have the gate for the maximum sound of damage!

Not familiar with the pedal you mention, but when it comes to gated and messed up fuzz, a couple of my faves are the Little Bear Mammoth Wooly, the Zoom UF-01, and the 3ms Noise Swash.

The Alesis Bitrman can do some really weird things to your sound, also. That one is more a desktop unit, though

and needs a preamp/buffer at the input and at the output cause it's line levels and impedance (i had one in the 00's, not exactly what i'm looking for tho, i have many lo-fi/bit reduction toys, but the syb-3 waveshaper is something else, it's gated, filtered (if you want to, with enveloppe following) and ultra violent, makes my fz2 in mode 2 sounds like a mild overdrive lol

    Wow, I really like that

I also stumbled on the geiger counter which sounds awesome

the fuzzolo also has some really 8 bit tones i like

there is also the metasonix stuff, but i like to have both of my kidneys, so i'll probably pass on those

And of course the ZVEX Fuzz Factory. Although maybe even that pedal seems tame in comparison to the ones mentioned above.
