I have an anthology CD set that gets a fair amount of play.

    "Enjoy every sandwich."

"I hear mariachi static on my radio..." is a great opening line.

I've been using Lawyers Guns and Money as well as Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner for years (hell, decades!) on those rare occasions I get to play out. Great respect for his body of work.

"Accidentally Like a Martyr" is one of my favorite songs ever. I just have to be careful when I put a Warren Zevon album on at work, since the lyrics can be a bit abrasive to someone not expecting them.

I attended a Bob Dylan concert in Eugene shortly after Warren Zevon died. Dylan didn’t say a word to the crowd the whole concert, but he played Lawyers, Guns and Money and, if I remember correctly, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead back to back. I thought it was a very classy tribute. You know Dylan respects him.

Ya know Ping, I beginning to wish you lived next door. I LOVE to sing along with Warrens tunes. SO fun. My voice is the same range and I can nail most of him, inflections included. His backing musicans on early stuff are tremendous.

I miss the hell out of WZ. Here’s one of my favorites, backed up by R.E.M. with David Lindley supplying the scorching lap steel lead!

I dig so much of his catalog and attitude as a songwriter…he inspires me.

I think “Carmelita” is the prettiest song about heroin addiction, outside of the Cowboy Junkies’ version of “Sweet Jane”

LG&M is a really fun tune to play for a crowd. Same for Werewolves.

    RiP Warren.
