Gee.... I wonder if Martin will sue Fender? Or if Fender will do Taylor, Gibson, and Guild versions too? A J200 version of a tele would be interesting.

Is that a spruce top? Is it chambered? Questions abound.

I love the tortoise shell pup cover, and the back is gorgeous, nice!

Teles have always appealed to me because of their simplicity and their image as a working man's guitar. This goes against all of that. When I see a fancy tele, its like some rich dude driving around in a bentley pickup truck. I dont get it.

These guitars are beautiful as art objects, but they're nothing I'd want to actually play. They're like the insane clothes designers put on the runway during fashion week.

Martin should do a butterscotch blonde D-28 with no binding, a black pickguard, and a maple neck.

I like these kind of CS guitars the builder earns his money other than beating up a reissue and calling it team built

That is an interesting guitar, but especially in that it evokes the 'to each his own' concept perfectly for me:

It is an almost perfect collection of things I don't want on my guitar. If they had put the tortoise shell material on the tops of the knobs like they did on the pickup, they would have absolutely nailed it!

It looks like a $200 Harley Benton to me at first glance.

    Sorry.

To me this is just insanity. This is not what the "Telecaster" is about. The best part is it can be your's for the price of a kidney. The Fender Comedy Shop - having a laugh since 1987.

Yes, it's pretty, but I can't help thinking if this is Fender's version of the Gibson 'our target market just paid their mortgages off...so.......'.

    Um... yeah.
Like, now you have to worry about scratches and dings....
    ...
and... are you supposed to be getting into the "tonewood" touting, like an acoustic collector, too?
    Eeesshh.
I mean... it could be a lot worse. It's still got a Tele vibe in some ways, for sure. If it was only a $500 $1K trim option to add to the basic Tele of your choice... fine. But, that there's car or motorcycle money... or... 2 vintage amps and a very cool Tele. Maybe even a Martin Dread thrown in. .... Some ammo and a guided hunting and fishing vacation....
    ETC.
I want a blind test with a CV.
