Wanting a hollow/semi hollow. Big dude i want a bigger guitar

I strongly suspect this relates not to the size of the guitar but where you hang it.

Our singer is 6’3” and broad. His Strat never looks small or like a toy.

If you wear them above the belt they look disproportionate for some reason. Probably a proportion thing against the height of the frame and the difference in width of torso v width of hips.

Smaller and bigger guitars just look more proportional when slung like the LB pic above.

I think it's good to pay some attention to your appearance if you're an entertainer, but this strikes me as some kind of personal body image issue.

Who do you think you should look like? A lot of rock performers are tiny little dudes who shop in the childrens' department. Why does your guitar need to look "big"?

If you care that much how you look, play a baritone guitar, I guess. Or just become a bass player.

Or stop videoing yourself with guitars.

Opinions needed So i have a couple of amazing teles. And a killer les paul. Ive been saving for a custom shop strat. And i was playing some in a shop and videoing myself to compare later. Then i saw myself holding one and im like nope.
Im 6'3 250. Great shape im just a big dude. And they just look like a damn toy in my hands i cant unsee it. I dont even want one now and it aint gonna change. Yeah i know teles and les paul aint much bigger. but it just looked strange. The way it hung on me
Now Im wanting something that gets close to the soud of a strat but thats bigger. A es-335 luther dickenson or a 335 with p90's or a gretsch eddie cochran with the p-90 neck dyna coil bridge would be cool as well. That would Get close to tele sounds. As well
I know shorter scale wont have the bite and the cochran is full hollow no post. so that would have feedback issues.

There are a few Gretsches that are 25.5 scale. My G3161 Streamliner was.

Epiphone Emperor Regent: This was a huge guitar! The Broadway is similar with two HB pickups.

Lots of comments on here about image, body issues, etc. I think the intent of these posts are positive, but telling someone not to worry is easier said than done.

If another guitar makes you feel more confident and comfortable, get it.

Big dude i want a bigger guitar..it makes perfect sense to me..i'm just 6 ft and some necks are just to narrow for me to get what i want..for larger folks... it must be that much more difficult..sounds to me if the commercial grade guitar isn't right for you..get one or two or more made to fit..kinda like getting your clothes custom tailored when your outside xl..and closer to xxl or more​

Try a Epiphone Zephyr Blues Deluxe - 3 p90s - see what you think. This one is like mine - really versatile guitar with a sweet soulful tone.

Check out Ray Benson's guitars. He's a big guy and had a tele made for him with a larger body.

Also has a few Eastman semi-hollows that look beautiful.

The Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin II is a rather sizeable guitar. I look like a small elf with one. But I like them enough I still want one.

Good suggestion. The balance on the non-reverse is unique, but they play well. Never tried one with mini humbuckers, but standard Firebird pickups can definitely get you into Strat territory.

It's not a 'big' hollow body...in fact it's a thinline semi-hollow. But you might like the Guild Starfire Jet 90. Three P-90s. Has a 6-way rotary switch that does Strat-style switching, plus neck + bridge. I went for the flashy gold finish, they also come in gloss white or matte black. Here's a pic showing the size of it relative to an LP:

I’m 6 5 myself and have more guitars than sense. I don’t worry about my size in relation to guitars.If some one else that’s there problem.having said that a 335 will solve your problem and bit of EQ
