Oh boy … :D You know the story of liking others playing fuzz but when you try it it just sounds gawd awful? :D I did say many times “fuzz ain’t for me”.

And yet here I am again. Just ordered the Wampler Fuzztration in hope its the one for me.

While I’m waiting for it to arrive let me ask what your experience is with this fuzz? Any info, tips and tricks concerning this pedal welcome.

I recently purchased one second hand & I’d say - it’s nice.

I’ve had the same mini journey with fuzz as you are describing. I think I like fuzz. I think I need fuzz… but I’m not sure.

There are definitely some nice sounds in this pedal. It’s versatile (especially with the octave), but in all honesty - I’m not sure my fuzz journey is over.

I hope yours is.

I hear you :D

I already have two Wampler drives on my board. Euphoria as always on and then into Pantheon.
I hope Wampler fuzz will work well with Wampler ODs.

Yes. That pre and post Octave was the selling point. Also I can use the Octave on its own into my drives.

I’m more after a lead fuzz sound than big unruly riffs and chords. A bit of synth like glitch I’d also ok to have in the arsenal.

Yeah. Not sure. Will know once I start twitching those knobs and flipping toggles.

Thanks!

I’ve never tried the Fuzztration, but it has been on my radar for a while.

Based on your post I’m guessing it might be what you’re looking for. I have the same issues with fuzz pedals. They sound great in recordings but I struggle to make them work for me. They all seem to be really extreme to me. Some have way too much bass, some have way too much treble, some are too scooped, etc. I typically run an EQ pedal after fuzz to dial it in.

I recently discovered Deep Trip Land pedals and they just work for me. They all have bass, treble, and bias controls. They’re all modified versions of iconic fuzz pedals. They are not faithful reproductions, but I don’t need to stack them with an EQ pedal, and that makes me happy.

I’m looking forward to your impressions of the Fuzzstration. Please share.

How do you feel about the Pantheon? I have one and while it is versatile and quality made, to me it is kind of a generic sound.

I have one. Got it when it first came out. It is awesome!!! I love that you can tab out the octave if you don’t want it. But the best feature is the ability to change the fuzz-octave order.
Just kidding. The real best feature is the Baxandall EQ so you can use it on anything. It’s a great pedal. Have fun.

I use it as a Mid Boost OD to stack on to my always On Euphoria.
I keep Pantheon’s bass and treble knobs low so to boost the mids. Works great for solo lines. On its own it’s not entirely my cup of tea. Stacked, however, it really suits my taste.

I hope the fuzz will work well with the two ODs I have.

I was this way until I revisited the MP Golden Cello. It's not an over the top fuzz, more of a hybrid, but in the neck position it is definitely fuzz territory. The bridge pickup gives more definition.

That looks like a fun pedal...I love the octave! Good luck with it!

I've been eyeing the Keeley Dark Side for quite a while. If the delay was separated from the modulation selection, I'd already have it.

Too early to say anything just yet. Was hitting it hard with a Strat and two Teles so far into two amps and also a wet-dry set up. There are heavy casualties on both sides but none side wants to yield.
Just a pic of the one who is not playing nice with other overdrives just yet.

I must take back what I stated above;
It does work well with other drives. However if you set it up to sound good on its own, then when stacked into another drive it will sound woolly. But if you set it up while stacked onto your always on drive, you will notice the bass and mid knob being turned back a lot and treble cranked. This way it fits well with my Euphoria.
Here is one example of Velcro style fuzz which I like. iPhone recording.

For those interested here is just the octave switch engaged without the fuzz. Goes into my Euphoria set to off clean.

Throwing in this short idea for a tune using Fuzztration. iPhone mic.
I’m yet to mic it properly.
