Walter plays fast for his age! I saw him a couple years go, his son was there and plays well too. My main impression was......... LOUD.
Seen Walter 3 different times in person and he never disappoints.
Excellent live show. I have a great photo of him I took at one gig, he held the pose while my camera failed to work and I got my phone out to take it!
Yes I saw Walter with John mayall and the bluesbreakers, fantastic.
He had a rough go the past few years. Looks like he has his health back and he's out playing again. Killer player!
So much love for Walter Trout!!! This reminds me of a time I strolled past an outdoors café where a jazz trio was performing. I stepped into the café -area to take a picture of the band. As soon as they saw me and my camera they stopped playing as if on cue and all struck a band-photo-pose with instruments and all and held it until I had taken the picture... standing up in the café... with all eyes on me... #awkward.
I posted my own thread about these videos, but I feel they need to go here as well!
I saw Walter at Guitar Town in Copper Mountain a couple of years ago. What a great performer.
Saw him nearly 20 years ago at a small club in Indy. Burned the place down with nothing but a Mesa and that worn out old strat.
He must be feeling better, looks like he's touring extensively in both Europe and USA for the next year (see his Website). Hope to see him in my neck of the woods this fall.
He took part in a workshop a Guitar Town and talked extensively about his health scare and how grateful he is to be alive and his new found appreciation of life itself.
I think he was on the road again a year or two before COVID-19 stopped everything.
He also laid up clips of him and the sons jamming in his garage !
The neighbours could be heard cheering in the driveway , LOL
He is married to Marie , and she is from Denmark.
He is here for shorter or longer stays every year since forever, and I have heard him countless times....
Such a talented , nice man.....Walter is sure one of the good guys !
I have vivid memories of seeing Walter about three times in local bars way back when, and he just tore it up. Then after all his health issues, I saw him I think about 10 years ago opening for BB King at the Pacific Amphitheatre, and he was just awesome. This stuff sounds brilliant, I'm so happy to see that he's in good health!
In fact I think his licks have improved, he's really adopted a lot more BB's style.
