I have seen Water Trout 3 different times in person and he does a great job. The 1st time I saw him was in 2000 San Diego CA at Victor's on the Green and his playing is super. He always attracts good sidemen also and the band delivers. Long American Music lineage.
Cool video, he rips. I've seen him a few times in the Pacific NW. Great player and cool all around person.
Walter is in Denmark a lot , his wife is from here , and :
In the 80's Walter played with John Mayall , and they did a tour here in Denmark.
It was Walters 37th birthday , and Mr Mayall , couldn't make it that night , he had the Flu.....
Walter fronted the band that night , the audience were told they were welcome to getting their money back , but it was a really good show.
A promoter promised Walter a tour if he would go solo. A guy from a record company promised him the debut album if he went solo ( Life in the jungle ,released later that year )
Me ? I was outside that night in a car with 2 band mates , we didn't have tickets , and it was a sold out show , dammit !
I have seen Walter and band many , many times , always a pleasure !
I saw him a couple years back. He's got chops for sure! His son was there and has fast chops too! The show was a bit too much of a barrage of very loud guitar solos, lacking taste for me.
First time I saw Walter I heard him warming up with the Lick. I was afraid that Lick was going to be in every solo.
Lightning fast and perfectly executed, it was making me itch.
Otherwise, it was a wonderful show with a great band.
thanks for posting this!
Big Trout fan here. The man just plays from his heart. Especially after his liver transplant. He brought himself back from the literal brink of death to where you'd never know anything happened. The power of the soul is overwhelming in him
