just finished my first ever guitar body fabrication... I really love the mixed of stained mahogany + bookmatched walnut drop top.

It all started at my local lumber yard when a nice piece of african mahogany catched my attention...

The body ended up at 2in thick total.
Any idea where I could find 2in chrome neck screw... I temporarly fixed the beck with stainless screws...

I guess it is not too bad for a first build... A lot of learning.

Why did you make it two inches?

Good question... Wanted it to be heavy and already had the mahogany planed... So I just added the top.

Tele bodies are 1.75 inches so a 2 inch screw would be almost coming through the fretboard. Beautiful job!

I have not welded the pickup yet. Any idea on the impact of thicker body on the tone.

I would try McMaster Carr or fastenal for the screws

    That's beautiful. Nice work.
You should be able to find the screws at any hardware store. #8x2" in your case.
