I had an eye exam last week and the Doc said nothing had changed and my old glasses were good to go, but since my insurance was picking up the tab, I should get some prescription readers that were made to address my particular astigmatism.

    I just picked them up.

    GOOD LORD!

Comparing them to $3.00 glasses from Walmart is like drawing a line in the sand with your toe and comparing it to the Grand Canyon!

    That's the best $150 I never spent!

You mean to tell me that $150 glasses are significantly better than $3 glasses? Who knew?

One of my favorite old classroom tricks was to cloud up with faux frustration, grab my glasses off my face, wad them up, and slam them to the floor. Kids would gasp and tremble, because we all automatically think of opticians and not the dollar store.

You know what they though... You need glasses to find your glasses, so some cheapies are good to have around too...

I hate it when I lose my glasses...and I have to search around for 10 minutes...before I realize I'm wearing them.

It's kind if like when I'm looking at my cell phone web browser to find something on the internet, and then I have to look around to find my cell phone to call the company I was looking up, but I can't find my cell phone because it's in my hand and it's disguised as the internet.

I had 20/20 vision until I was 44, Went from near perfect...To not being able to read a script bottle at all.

Got my first pair of reading glasses, I can usually find them when I need them around the house, But I have never left the house with them.

My wife is pretty sick of reading menus to me.

I just position what i'm trying to read at the ideal distance from my eyes in good lighting. That usually involves taking my microwave dinner into the lounge to read the instructions.

The biggest problem I found with Walmart glasses ?

Objects may appear larger, wearing a NASCAR shirt and pajama bottoms, and pushing a cart full of Mountain Dew, ammunition, and Crisco...

I've been eyeing a pair of reading glasses at my local gas station but they are always sold out of the 1 to 1.5X lenses. The others give me an instant headache.

Getting my first pair of bifocals was a traumatic event for me, but now I bless that day. I told my wife just yesterday that the day I can no longer read is the day she should put me on an ice floe and send me out to die, and having bifocals will definitely delay that day for a while.

I know that drug store sunglasses do not necessarily use optical quality lenses .

I bought a pair of Caddis readers during Black Friday deal; Mister Cartoon style. Expensive as heck BUT I get to look like Joe Pesci in "The Irishman"! sorta... :D

BUT They are quite amazing and worlds better than the cheap readers! Much clearer and sharper not to mention blue blockers.

I wont argue with anyone who thinks they are WAY too expensive but if you sign up for news letter they have some 2 for 1 sales.... The frames feel like they will out last the lenses by far.
