Amazing, well done.. Tough song to cover I think but that sounds sweet.
thanks so much for sharing your time to listen..appreciate your kind post.
Here's my favorite "non-original" version.
thank you..thanks for the link as well, enjoyed it. Great to see a Collings brother too!
Very nice. This is an incredibly reflective and emotional song. Written by a 16 year old Michael Brown and sung in his band The Left Banke. You did a nice job of putting the originally intended feel back in the song.
This was originally meant to be a sad love song, but all the big $$$ guys insisted on a snappy uplifting version. "that's what the kids want" and the song achieved only moderate fame.
And it just slid off my radar like teflon. That is until Linda Ronstadt covered it. She restored it to it's original sad reflective song and her version touched me like very few songs could do. The words are brilliant in a poetic way. And of course I found myself in those words. If it wasn't for Linda's version I never would have heard the beauty in it. And I may never have listened to your version, but I was hoping you played it right and you did =)
I've been working on my own solo version to capture that beauty for a couple years and it remains incomplete, sad
My favorite cover
I like Johhny A's instrumental version, too.
This is my go to version of this song....love the feel you guys got there!
