I was given a broken VT30 today. I hoped the problem was the fuse, no luck. I turned it on.
The input jack makes noise from the slightest touch.
    The volume fluctuates.
    The effects make unwanted noises.
The speaker sounds good with another amp.
This amp is very dirty. I also found two picks and a dime in the cabinet. Lucky me.
The only obvious damage is in the photos. I'm hoping this looks familiar to someone. I'll replace that blown thingy after I learn what it is. I'll give this amp a good cleaning after. 20190107_184607.jpg 20190107_184006.jpg 20190107_191044.jpg 20190107_190243.jpg 20190107_184945.jpg 20190107_184647.jpg

"Blown thingies" are very often blown by a problem somewhere else in the circuit, so simply replacing the thingy and turning the amp on again may result in two blown thingies. Probably a good idea to order two or three of those rectifiers if you're going with a trial and error repair plan.
