Vox has now come out with a 12" version of their AC4C1...I'm a little excited and a little mad they didn't have the option when I bought my AC4C1-BL (10").

Don't think they're in stores yet, but I'd really like to compare it to my 1x10. I might just upgrade...

Any word on the price? Perhaps $399 like Fender pawn shop series?

Not sure of the price...I know Vox had an 8" version that seemed to only be available in Japan, but I'm not sure what the difference in price was. Who knows, maybe they'd sell it for $350-375?

Nice...I guess someone beat me to it! haha

Man, I wish Vox would just make something like this in 15 watts...
IMO the AC15 is too heavy for only being 15 watts. They should do a 1x12 single channel top boost. Wouldn't have to be much bigger than this AC4C1-12. It could easily be under 35 lbs. I bet they'd sell like hot cakes!

Yes I agree. I'd buy one for sure.

I don't get their marketing think. They already have a few versions of the AC4. What possible gap does one with a 12" fill? Anyone wanting to do that would hook up any AC4 to a cab.

What's wrong with a 10W or one with an attenuator.

I stopped at Guitar Center yesterday to play the blue version and much to my surprise they had the 12" speaker version. I played both for about 15 minutes and I am going back today to buy the AC4C1-12. It was priced at $349 so $50 more than the blue. Obvious differences are speaker size and cabinet size, aside from cosmetics.

I think the new version sounded great! I've owned a Matchless DC-30 and Lightning back in the 90s but cannot justify spending so much on amplifiers these days. I won't begin a flame thread here saying the new AC4 model is as good as Matchless but it sounded very, very good for $349. It sounds just like a Vox top boost circuit. I don't gig so I won't be moving it around thus no worry about the pcb versus hardwired.

This really is a tremendous offering at the price. I know VHT offers the Special 6 Ultra at a similar price and it is handwired but it doesn't sound like a Vox, it's not designed to do that.

I am truly excited to pick this up today!

to me it solves the issue of the 8" sounding boxy.

only reason i can see why they would make a 12" version. i like the idea of the 12".

Great price and that makes me happy to see how cheap it is. Can't wait to try one out, thanks!

Wow! this ones going on my short list. I wish it had reverb, but I have pedals to take care of that.

I have the 8". It was on clearance at guitar center a few years ago. I like it, but I think I'd like it more with a bigger speaker.

OK. Just got home from Guitar Center. They still had the floor model on display. Upon inquiry I was told it was the only one in stock. They took 10% off so my pre-tax price was $314.99.

Just plugged in both my Telecaster and Gretsch Jet Firebird. Both sound great! I don't have much time at the moment so I will try to take pics and write more soon. I have a work trip coming up that is extremely important, priorities, priorities.

I have other guitars I am looking forward to hearing also. So far my impressions are the same as yesterday, it is a great sounding amp.

I saw one at Guitar Center yesterday. Solid amp for $349.

Dumb question......where does the heat go?

The amp area is completely enclosed.....there's no breathing opening for the tubes.

Maybe at 4 watts they can just sink all the heat into the chassis frame. I was fascinated by the design. It's going to be a big seller. That's about as cool as you can get for $349. It's "Champ" cool.
