Vox Mystic Edge

    I bought one of those Vox Valvenergy pedals based on the Nutube. The Mystic Edge is the AC 30 variant:

    It includes an optional cab simulation, putting out a line level when engaged. I'm just getting used to it, but the first impressions are good.

    It has a couple of other modes. In standard mode, it acts as an amp-in-a-box without the cabinet simulation, and an instrument level output. In pre-amp mode, you can use it to bypass your guitar amps pre-amp and send the pedals output directly to the power amp.

    No, but it will give the impression of an AC30 when you want something in the ballpark.

    Glad to see makers incorporating this tech into a pedal. It was just a matter of time before SMT-based tubes became a thing.

    The line level out in cab-sim mode matches up pretty well with a passive DI:
