Is it truly vintage? Didn't Vox re-use the name for some solid state models? Even some SS Voxes sound pretty good, although not like the valve (tube) models like AC 15 or AC 30.I have an opportunity to buy one in very good condition, can any of you tell me about its sound?

We were 18/19 or so, and on our 2nd trip to the south of France.
In the summer there is a huge Theater-Festival in the town of Avignon, and (of course) we had to go there (broke as we were).
We didn´t have the coin to go to any shows, but on the central square (and many other places) there was always some live-action going on (for free!).
Ranging from wild theatre/dance-performances, to two old guys with guitars playing 40´s Jazz-standards (with two old arch-tops through two old radios!), and an entire BAND playing "Miss you" (by the Stones) WITHOUT VOCALS. Instead they used a saxophone and a guitar!
And the guitar-guy played through a - you guessed it - Vox "Escort"!
I thought it sounded great
cheers - 68.
P.S.:
If you´re interested in the time-frame...
That very night we went to a movie-theatre to see the (then new) movie "Paris, Texas" by (director) Wim Wenders
If you havn´t seen the movie yet - go for it![]()
