Umm, if your neighbors are loud, wouldn't it be better to have a real Twin to drown them out??

I don't get it. It's just an inline effect. How's this going to burn your neighbors?

Anyway, any resemblance to amp sounds in these is purely notional, and the Twin is probably the least distinctive. There was a long thread about these on the Reaper forums a year or so back.

Pass.

I have the AC30 one. It's great for when you want to practice and aren't near an amp. They record pretty well to, by sending the output to your computer.

I agree .I think I was just one of the first people to post about them on FDP when I first got one years ago when the local store just got them in .I found it excellent and very AC30 ish .You can also use it through powered speakers and even put pedals in front ,just plug the amplug into the last out put in the chain .i found them a bit annoying to alter and I kept losing settings so I marked them with a spot of paint .I use a Yamaha VHT now mainly ...that really kicks arse.

I normally carry three of those while I'm away at work. (About 8 months out of the year) I have the AC30, the twin, and night train. I think all sound fine for practice like I do.

I like the fact that many people here are respectful to not want to disturb your neighbors. Your home is you sanctuary and no one has the right to intrude on your peace and quiet.

HOWEVER:

If you have loud and / or obnoxious neighbors, I highly recommend getting a "Yard Guard" (they spell it Yard Gard) that shoot inaudible high frequencies the range of 4000 ft and point it at their house.

It will drive them nuts and drive them off and they won't know why. Works good on annoying barking dogs too. The frequencies are adjustable. If one doesn't work, there WILL be others that do.

Best $50 I've spent on a non musical item.

Sorry, little late to this, but this is my first time on this particular part of the forums. I LOVE the Amplugs. My one gripe with them might be that I'm a reverb whore and none of them have it. If that's really a big deal to you, though, you can plug it into the left side of a reverb pedal (or delay pedal, or OD pedal, etc.), and boom, there you go.

I started with the AC30 Amplug, and loved it. I followed with the Classic Rock, Satriani, and Twin. I actually think the Twin is my favorite, which is funny because it's "Vox doing Fender". It has the widest range of clean tones, but can get dirty enough to rock with it too. The FX/Chorus mode isn't bad either, considering it's the same $39 price as the other ones that don't have an FX mode.

Has anyone tried the Night Train Amplug? I'm considering it because the Classic Rock tends to get a little muddy when you turn the gain up. Assuming the Night Train has enough gain on mode, it has that "Bright" setting, so I figure that won't be a problem.
