Need more help. I pulled the chasis to replace the fuse that had blown. I replaced with the same mA and voltage and it blows immediately. However, these are fast blow fuses. Anyone know if these amps need slow blow or do I have a bigger problem?

Yes, they should have slow blow. The HT fuse is T200mAL and the heater fuse is T6.3AL.

Now, whether the inrush current is enought to kill a fast fuse every time I'm not sure. Do the heaters come on? In all four valves? Can you pull the valves and fire it up without a fuse blowing. What if you put them back in one by one and turn on - turn off between each change!
First V2 (the first 12AX7, there is no V1), then V3 (then the second 12AX7) then V4/5 (both EL84s).
If one of these steps triggers the fuse blowing then you've probably found a faulty valve... or it could be something else of course :p

I have a bunch of overdrives but my favorite one I use is a '77/'78 Maxon D&S II which personally sounds great with all of my tube amps and the AC10. I just recently picked up a
    J. Rockett .45 Caliber. Although I have not used that pedal with the AC10 yet it does sounds really great with my Vox AC30 and Marshall 1973x. I have used my 35th Ibanez 808 tube screamer with this amp and it sounds good. Just my opinions and what works for me. Kind of a tough question to answer as we all have different tastes and opinions. If i had to choose just one of OD's to keep it would be the Maxon D&S II. Hope this helps.

Edit: I should add that I mainly play Strats.

I recently picked up a Micro Aml + I'm liking a lot. It sounds very natural as it pushes the ac10 to overdrive.

I have an Ibanez Tube Screamer and it works very well with the AC10C!. I have a Donner Alpha Cruncher and I like that too. I set the Donner for heavy distortion and the Tube Screamer for just a little crunch.

Update for anyone else that has this problem. I replaced the EL84's and no more blown fuses, so a valve had gone bad and was causing it.

Never even thought of that, mine has plenty of treble. If there were numbers on the treble dial I have it at about 1.

You know what Rory G. woulds say ... Dallas Rangemaster. I believe Brian M. would concur.

its a bit more more than treble ..there is more sustain too..it's been around a long time. you don't need to spend top dollar prices to get a good one

what i would add to that is that these amps seem more suited to single coils.. humbuckers thicken the tone which requires more equalising...
