Weird name, but the pedal is outstanding. Two very different channels and both sound great. I'm using it on a marshall DSL15H (clean channel) with single coils (Strat and Tele) and I must say I'm very impressed. Also tried it with optimum results with an Egnater Tweaker, but the Marshall's where it's at.

I got it 'cause my Sparkle Drive was crapping out and I missed the Clean Blend feature, so I figured I'd get the VSXO 'cause it has that and more... and man, does it deliver more!

I agree it sounds very nice. Yet I never bonded with mine. Almost too hi-fi, maybe.

I'm glad you like yours!

Exactly my experience. I tried one for about a month and ended up returning it. I have nothing bad to say about it... it just didn't kick my OD-3/TS-9 combo off the board.

I got one Friday and really like it. Haven't had much time to bond yet, but sounds good so far. I sold my route 808, but kept my open road on my board. It knocked the full drive off the board for now. I definitely see how it can sound almost too refined for a dirt pedal, but I'm forcing myself to keep it for a year before making any changes. I love visual sound/Truetone!!

I for one does not really understand what does 'HI-FI' means in a pedal? :p seriously.

For me, in this case, it meant I couldn't get a nasty or rough enough sound out of the pedal to make me satisfied with it. Sounded very good at all times, but also very polite. It's a great sound for anyone wanting to have a polished sound at all times, that is just not me. I keep it because it does sound so good, but I never use it; I really should sell it

I use mine with a Tweaker 15 head and cab on the Marshall setting. Still need to find my sweet spot for that pedal and amp, but it sounds good throughout all settings on all the knobs!

But that's what RATS are for...

Picked one up recently, seems I've hit the "dual pedal but only liking one side" conundrum.

The TS side with clean blend is everything I hoped it would be, and I like it way more than the Sparkle Drive. You can really get everything from hot-rodded TS tones down to clean with a hint of grit. Unlike the Sparkle Drive, the clean blends very naturally with the drive. With the Sparkle I always felt like it had a layered sound that was more distracting than natural.

The left (Open Road?) side is not doing it for me. Perhaps it's got a Marshall flavor to it; it's very high gain but yet not very ballsy, I suppose from the lack of mids. I don't like it as a foundation drive sound. It might work out as a lead/gain boost, but then I'd have to use the TS side as my basic drive sound, losing the awesome in-between clean blended tones.

Still playing with it, just thought I'd post my experiences here. I'd like either the TS side as a single pedal, or a dual pedal of two TS sides...

I bought one to try out but it had switching issues and I sent it back so I didn't really get to see what it sounded like.
I haven't found a dual OD pedal that I really liked both sides on either.
I find it's just easier to use individual pedals .
