I wonder why they chose the name "reverb"...
If I had to guess, I would say that it had to do with finding an available Internet Domain Name with some sort of musical connotation.
It's a real service to be able to see and try so many individual guitars all in one place. Because of poor customer behavior (messing with merchandise) so many shops have become defensive and off-putting. The ones that are really welcoming -- I would add The Music Emporium to the "good guys" list -- are just fantastic. I think it's important to patronize such places, and not to abuse the welcome by trying stuff and then buying online. Glad you had a good experience!
Here you go...…..
And just across the street - the beautiful online service that put a small dent in eBay.
The tiny Thai food place next door to CME is outstanding. Have lunch and shop. Make an afternoon of it!
Unless Squier comes out with a version, I’ll have to wait! I want one someday. I love me some offset Fenders.
We didn’t visit that Tai food place, but we walked into Dinkel’s bakery, across the street. My Grandpa used to buy a German desert bread there, every year for his Christmas visit to our home in the quad cities, back in the early 70’s. They have killer cookies! Lol
Or at least played a Rick 1993 Plus 12 String so I could get it out of my head that eventually I will own one and get rid of half the tuners and string it as a six. That’s the model with the one and three-quarter inch nut . Whooooo hoooo !
Reverb is CME is Reverb is CME
Love CME. Bought my last two guitars from there and couldn't be happier. Reverb is what eBay should be, although I wish there was a little more robust review section for the ads. That's probably more about the participation than it is about the site, though.
I was going to go before the show, but traffic on 294 and 290 set me back two hours. Maybe next time.
Gibsons, Schmibsons--where are the Teles?
Take a look at the pictures in the middle of the thread.
Or Wishbone at the end of the block with their corn pancakes (and sweet pepper sauce).
As soon as I hit the lottery, CME is going to be my first stop.
So much cool stuff!
I bought an allen brown sugar from them - no complaint. but now I gotta visit the store.
The beautiful online service that brought EBay to its knees !
Well, in one segment , so yeah I guess it is a small one but it was the one that I always used so...
When I saw the notice from EBay where they announced their new fee schedule on musical instruments which was just cut and pasted from Reverb, I probably laughed for an hour .
And the tech guru thing is so evident in his use of admittedly cool content . How many people have only clicked on instruments for sale and never on a review or interesting article ? Yeah - me neither.
Dinkel’s!! I take photos of everything. I’m 55 and I feel like a 10 year old when I see their bakery.
There’s a party at Fort Knox Studios on Saturday that I’m attending to honor a fallen Police officer (a fraternity brother). I’m going to go to CME and then I’ll go to the party at 4 PM. Several of us ancient college friends (who haven’t jammed together in 25 years) are supposed to play together. We’ll be ok. Fear is never boring.
Rick's are the most beautiful guitars but I struggle to find one that feels right to me. Owned a couple but never bonded.
Yeah.....LOVE that place. Just bought a new Weber speaker from them in fact. Good on them for comping you that shirt! I like the design!
