Hey, hold on a minute. I can barely operate the saws necessary to build one of these
from wood. NOW I need to learn how to weld? This is just too much for me.

Great job. I've always wanted to weld something...anything actually. But, since I can't
I think I'll just live vicariously through your build thread, so thanks.

@ RogerC: I don't think the body will stay shiny like this. I'm experimenting with candy apple orange paint.
@rapfohl09: It's metal Fe42, not aluminum. The material is 1mm thick. And yes, there will be a wooden block under the bridge, otherwise the body will collapse under the presure of the stings.
@ Ike & Kakihara: :D That kind of GAS I have more than enough. When I everything build what's on my mind, I have to live for another 150 years;)
@emony: Welding is not as difficult as you think. I started welding with zero experience (but that is by now 21 years ago  )

Wow, you're going to make a Bigsby out of that block of aluminium? Quite a challenge !!

:D I can use a industrial milling machine, but only for half an hour per day. It will take a few days.....

The "supershorty" will be fully competitive with an original Bigsby, so parts such as bearing, handle and axle will be interchangeable.

    Daily update.

It starts to look like a Bigsby.
Hopefully I've done all the rough work next Friday.

Working on the Bigsby half an hour a day, and in the evening I can do something on the neck. It's allready fretted en shaped.
