I stumbled on this cool video earlier and had to share. I love how down to earth and chill Vince seems, regular shorts, white tshirt, and barefoot! You can't get more non-star than that. But then, the surroundings will snap you back into reality when you remember no, this isn't a guitar store or studio...it's Vince's OWN gear!!

And I don't know who this woman is, but she does have a lovely voice (she gets into it more as it rolls along).

    Enjoy!

That was beautiful. I love that song and she sang it so well. What a great guy he is to be so encouraging to those young people. And you are right - bare feet just makes it all that more homey.

Great Video!! We did that song this morning. I played a jazzbox and not nearly as well as VG. Thanks for sharing that.

We did too! I played acoustic and not nearly as well as Vince or the other guitarist. Or Road King for that matter, I'm sure.

Did I just watch Vince Gill hand his 1942 Martin to a complete stranger, or did I miss something??

He's really a class act, down to earth and self-effacing.

The other guitar player appears to be that youngster (lol) that's been putting out the great tutorials on the website here lately!

Man, that put the weepy on me! Less is more, right? I'm talking about the GEAR!!! OMG! There was a fourth vox part open and I was singing along with Vince and "friends". Almost like being there. Thanks for sharing the good stuff! Good reason to keep the TV off, and enjoy the simplicity of life...

If the video post is accurate her name is Joy Frost... an aspiring writer/singer.
She does have a very nice voice.

Funny that will all the great vocals and playing and the guitar geek overload of seeing a room with all that vintage wood I was most impressed by his tuning up by ear. :D

I was checking out the gear.

API board, Digi converters, Distressor, PCM 96 and a I believe an M4000 reverb. Up top is a couple of Shadow Hills compressors in 500 format. Little Walter Amp up there on the left. Not to mention all those vintage guitars. Possibly an M7 as well.

    Great studio.

He seems to be a very good person.

My first real experience with him was not all that great but he has really changed my first impression over the years.

That was fabulous but I wonder if the guys sat there holding their mobile phones and recording it will look back and wished they'd live the moment rather than trying to capture it.

Vince Gill is one cool guy and the music was wonderful.

Who is the female singer? One of the contestants?

    :) Peter
