I've had very bad experiences with vets. Unlike people doctors, they can sell what they prescribe, giving them another avenue for corruption.

Plus they have to deal with multiple species of animals, not just one species like human doctors. Add to that that animals cannot state what is ailing them, and all they can do is start investigating. They aren't magicians.Yea, screw those vets. Just because they go to college for 10 years and have hundreds of thousands of dollars in start up costs and operating expenses on top of their student loans, and they only work about [email protected] hours a week, they think they should make a living!
Yes...but you don't have to buy the prescribed drugs from THAT Vet office any more than you HAVE to buy glasses from your Optometrist/Optician office.
You can even buy animal drugs online at competetive prices from sites like Chewy with a prescription.
Also check your local supermarket pharmacies and nationwide chains...I believe Kroger and Publix in the Southeast U.S. sell animal drugs.
I would expect that Costco, Walmart, Target and others may also...
If my Vet didn't price match or give me the prescription to fill at another, cheaper source, I would find another Vet who did.
Btw, why are they no vets willing to take your pets to sleep after a check at home ? If the condition is too bad, it would be better and the owner would probably not mind it. Maybe it exists, but not here.
