What I would say though, is that 'light laquer' maple-cap neck is really peachy.

I should have said that personal preference plays a role, clearly mine is in favor of the thicker lacquered v shaped neck.

By the way Stuart did you place a bid on that all original complete and really nice looking Vester Tradition Strat on Ebay UK.
It sold for a snippy 148 quid.

Thanks for your kind words about the site.
Right now I am working on the guitar book section.
Go check it out.

That is some nice work, G... And I got a nice surprise when I clicked on the Tradition Series Tele page to find so many pics of the one I used to own (2 tone S/B)

I'll be checking back regularly... ;)

I shut down the Vester Fan Site more than a year ago.
Vester was a nice hobby, I collected a lot of knowledge about these guitars, pictures and instruments, but I quit that hobby for other fields of interest.

Vester guitars are without doubt great guitars, I owned 21 of them at one piont in time.
Right now the only left from my Vester hobby is my Vester stereo acoustic amp.
I love that amp like no other, she is sweet and sounds the best.

I have a Vester Stage Series Serial #E723517 in the EVH red and white stripes, I bought it in 1998 for $125, and to this day can barely find ANY information on the guitar anywhere on the internet. The humbucker is its' own switch to switch it from a single to a double coil, someone told me long ago it may be a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Everything on the guitar is original including the paint job. Can anyone help me with information? Message here or email at revolution84@hotmail.com.

Here are some scans from a Vester catalog from the late eighties showing what they offered in Teles.

There's a couple there that really tickle my fancy.

I live just down the road from Midco/Samuels (Vester Improrter) and those things were EVERYWHERE about 20 years back. Oddly enough, I don't ever remember seeing a Tele version though. Their Jackson clones weren't too bad-especially the neckthru soloist copies. Can't find 'em any more though. I think given the pricing and marketing most of their sales were to beginners, etc.

Another happy owner of a Stage Series Strat. Mine is a let-handed version, bought it a couple of months ago.

It has the weirdest pickup order I've ever seen: SHH.
The previous owner replaced the neck and middle single-coils for two DiMarzio humbuckers. It has the 'nice' neck, it is one of the best I've ever played.

Is there any way of knowing on which year was the guitar made?

I know this is a really old thread but I think theses guitars are great
I have a bound rosewood fretboard brown sunburst tradition tele that now has twisted tele neck pup and and a hot tonerider bridge pup. Its a great little guitar
Also have a matching brown sunburst strat with a maple neck
Will do a couple of pics when I get back from holiday next week

Anybody else got a Vester? Particularly the solid ash bodied tradition series ones?

ok am starting another thread in the main telecaster discussion forum
