Do people call these two tone sunbursts? My '60, and this one too, look like a 3 tone sunburst with a very wide gradation. I see red in there. When I hear two tone, I think early Strat.

I don't think the sides are bursted, I believe they looked uniformly dark when new but this type of burst fades in an irregular way. The light areas are where there is less overlap in the spray pattern.

Yeah, a lot of fishy Infos here.
Most of the 'bad' sounding pickups have degaussed magnets. A ride over a recharger makes them sound like before.

People, not CNC machines sprayed the uniqie Fender 3 burst matrix..........however, talented Fender Employees replicated the desired Fender sunburst spray job all those years ago?

Does this guitar body really confirm the original blend of the 3 burst pattern finish?

Gibson and Fender were probably getting both alizarin and quinacridone dyes for their cherry reds between '58 and '60. Alizarin is fugitive, hence the "2 tone" bursts.
