They did? I didn't get that memo.
With Paul Reubens as Don Vito Corleone, then just kind of cast accordingly from there.
Adam Driver is a dead ringer. He could pull that off too.
Didnt Coen Bros direct the Rooster remake? I dont see them answering to anyone.
Seems nothing spectacular is being created in this 21st. Century so producers and investors are unwilling to put the money up. Next we'll see re-makes of Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia. JMHO
Modern day Hanson Bros. probably be packing AR-15's on the ice, and their toys replaced with a Play Station...
After what they did to The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, I just don't care anymore.
The Godfather vs Frankenstein.
It’ll probably work out better than the Denny Pratt tragedy. Maybe.
They'll never do it justice. One of my all-time favorite movies.
They have not. it's being removed from certain schools because of the nature of the writing.
Remember when Don Rickles would call people,
"you hockey puck??"
No movie remakes. There's only one.
Just like there's only one Don Rickles
I have the same problem with Magnum PI
someone beat me to it but I think this guys.
Adam Driver as Steve Hanson
Justin Long for the younger brother comedy support
Sean William Scott for the older brother
Could be the original Steve Hanson who is now the coach and is coaching the second generation Hansons.
Hell just cast these Hanson brothers for the movie..
Bet they will work for cheap..
One day, you’ll be able to buy software. You create a database of all your movies. Then, you can cast anyone from any movie in your movie library in any other movie in your movie library.
The AI will do the voices for the correct dialogue for the new movie, and the image of the new actor or actress will be seamlessly placed into the movie that you’re editing with all the correct movements.
The voices can already be done, forming new dialogue from old samples. It’s only a matter of time until the visuals are set, then you can be the casting director.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Will Ferrell as T. E. Lawrence in the David Lean epic. That’s one of my favorite movies.
John C. Riley should be interesting as General Allenby, too.
One more reboot that I didn't bother to watch.
Billy Bob Thornton? I bet that went to a dark side pretty fast.
I liked them both but for me the Jeff Bridges remake was superior to the John Wayne version. Part of that is because a John Wayne movie can't help but be a John Wayne movie. But mostly it was that the Jeff Bridges version captured the tone and pace of the novel.
I didn't read the book, but it was generally grittier and felt more like the real West and less of a trope. It was grittier than the original (of course the sensibilities of the viewers were different then as they are now) and the cast was better. I just never bought into Glenn Campbell as an actor, and the girl in the remake was way better than the original.
True story: My dad was a hockey player back in the 1960's and early 70's. He played on some national championship teams... yadda yadda, yadda. Though he didn't "go pro" himself, he played with and against many who did... including the Hansen's.
He said their last name is actually Carlson, and there were only 2 of them, the 3rd brother in the movie was an actor. I asked if they were as crazy in reality as in the movie, He said "Yeah, maybe worse! In the movie, I doubt they were acting, they were just being themselves."
Apparently their antics were legendary back in the day, which probably led to their recruitment for the film.
