Versatile Telecaster vs Stratocaster with a broader palette of tones

If you use the Tele tone control you access a wide array of tones with 3 way switch. I believe a Telecaster is just as versatile.

My Tele is more muscular my Strat is more subtle. Each one does what they do very well.

If I want maximum versatility, I bring my Les Paul (R8) and my CS 56 strat. If I want that "Tele" sound Only one of my Tele's will do. If that makes sense. I do the festival season (fall fairs, etc) from May to October where we do a bit of everything and my LP and strat mostly get the call. This winter I'll be doing a Merle Haggard tribute and my Tele will be the most used. I guess everyone of my guitars could be considered versatile but its up to each of us individual guitarists to decide which tool is best for a particular job. Theoretically I could do it all with a Tele but my own artistic judgment of what each situation requires tells me different.
