If you're spending more than a couple of minutes on it, you're doing it wrong. Warm the adhesive with a hair dryer (not a heat gun, that's overkill), slice through it with dental floss and remove the residue with Goo Gone.

Why can’t the Velcro stick on the pedalboard as well as the glue sticks to the pedal?

I used to feel this way, but now I kind of appreciate it. It's easier to stick on my pedal board if it already has the hooks.

(I only use dual lock on my pedals. It locks my pedals onto my board, but it’s easy to remove leaving no residue if/when I sell it).

(I only use dual lock on my pedals. It locks my pedals onto my board, but it’s easy to remove leaving no residue if/when I sell it).

It's the same adhesive. If anything the Dual Lock adhesive tends to be more difficult to remove as the product is designed for a stronger hold in all senses.

If you can remove Dual Lock adhesive, you can remove any Velcro adhesive.

I like Holeyboards for exactly this reason. I was skeptical at first, but it's amazing how well zip-ties work.

I'm with you on this, but once I had the pedals where I wanted them, I got another pedal and decided to re-arrange...then re-arrange again...then another pedal...so basically I was running out of zip-ties. What I came up with was using a roll of velcro that has fuzz on one side and teeth on the other. I run out a foot or two, then cut into strips. Works about 75% as good as zip-ties- I just can't seem to get them tight enough because it grabs itself. My pedals wiggle, but they won't fall off.
I think that once I have my pedals in a spot/order for more than a year I will then graduate to zip-ties and make things wiggle-free.

I used a lot of Goo Gone yesterday, but years of glue on glue is hard to dissolve! Also I wanted to retain the label with the serial # which made it all even harder

Pedalboard? My pedals live on shelves to display what cool pedals I have. I plug straight into the amp

I use velcro to attach my causeway tag to the inside of my windshield. I find the hook-and-loop part to be much stronger than the glue itself, which can't hold up to SE Louisiana heat. Especially inside a car. You pull the tag off the windshield, and the velcro on the windshield pulls off and sticks to the tag.

I understand the Causeway Commision is coming up with a new system.
