...HE SAID "VECTORED THRUST'...
I also think the OPs video is an animation.. the smoke trails look like visual effects and the grass would be moving even with model jet levels of thrust and they forgot the doppler effect on the engine sound.
It's an RC model
Look carefully at the dispersion pattern of the ‘smoke trails’.. that is a generator, poss. afterfx.
This is a video-capture from the Aerofly RC 7 flight simulator. If you go to the youtube version, it says so in the description.
It is "advertising".
That said, I enjoyed it. I learned to hover on the Realflight sim. Never tried it live, I crashed the sim too often!
scratch one bogey!
It is a remote controlled, scale model Mig-29.
Thank you! It was obvious to me immediately. The airframe scale to runway size is all wrong, and when would you see a little shaded observation patio on anything but a small field?
Vectored thrust is fun. Some types of vectored thrust can enable STVOL. Vectored thrust generally cannot out perform missiles, rail guns or beam weapons.
Warning! technoporn content: This may engender a false belief that technical systems always work well, that successful outcomes can be baked into the design and the designed systems can be operated and maintained without disruption by poorly paid young people.
(Better music - annoying robot sounding voice)
Hypersonic weapons (same robot sounding voice)
That made me chuckle
I have been on the ramp when a US Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier 'jump jet' cranked up, did some hovering, and then took off from a hover.
I can't even begin to describe how thunderously, painfully loud that thing is.
