v mod ii pickups on a MIM(Player Series) tele?

I know this might be a dumb question, but I really like the sound of American Pro 2, and I'm considering upgrading my player series tele pickups. Seems like the v mod ii pickups are not very expensive, a pair of them on eBay is only around $100.

So, are the V Mod 2 pickups gonna fit on my tele without any problems? And can they make a significant change(make my tele sounds a bit more like a professional II)? If not, What pickups would you recommend?

Welcome to the forum.

You would be able to drop them right in and solder them right to your switch.


I would add a push-pull tone pot, or get a 4 way switch so you can put them in a series as well. Placing the pickups in series
sounds somewhat like a neck humbucker.............nice option to kick in.

I’ve got a pro ii, and it took me a minute to get used to the pickups, but now I really like them.

I think it’s a great idea!
