Hi guys,

I love my telecaster v-mod 2 pickups (from the am pro 2 line). I want to upgrade another telecaster with these pickups but can't find them online. Maybe someone here don't like them and would be ready to sell them ? Or for those of you who tried them, which pickups would be quite close to the v mod 2 pickups ?

Thanks
Jean

I don't see any listings for V-Mod II pickups as Fender lists them in the AM II Pro specs on their website. I see plenty of listings for new in-the-box V-Mod pickups on Reverb. Have to wonder if the II is just marketing or if they have actually released an updated version of them. It might be worth an email to Fender consumer relations???

For what it is worth, I have a set of the Fender V-Mod pickups in one of my partscasters. Great sounding pickups 👍👍

I’ve been trying to find out how the V-Mod I and II pickups differ, and based on my survey of readings of pickups included in ads for used V-Mods I’ve found for sale, the resistances of the two seem basically the same. This makes me think that something about the winding pattern/tension is what changed between the I and IIs.

There definitely seems to be a significant audible difference between the two versions:

I found a set at Stratosphere. At least they claimed they were V-Mod II pickups out of an AmPro II tele. They sound comparable to my own AmPro II, but there are other differences in the guitar I put them in. Can't be certain, but you could give them a try.
