Can anyone recommend a powered USB hub that they have confirmed is working well to support USB audio interface (Yamaha mg10xu) and midi > USB into an iPad at same time via the camera connection kit.

Ideally it would have the power specification to support charging too but that is secondary to low latency, etc.

Any should work. None will power the iPad though, as the iPad will be plugged into the non-powered side.

It's always recommended to plug the I/O directly into device and not use a hub, powered or not. I'm not an ipad person so I can't really speak for it's capabilities, just going by what I've experienced with desktop and laptop. Never had an issue daisy chaining a few midi components but definitely had an issue with using a hub for I/O.

Thanks. The swapping midi/audio interface connections is the pain I want to avoid. Works fine independently. Will see how a new USB 3.0 hub I've just ordered goes or I'll go back to direct.

Some USB devices draw too much power, and the iPad won't work with them. The solution is to use a powered hub. That's how I use a Mackie BlackJack to record to my iPad (or iPhone!) and it works great.

That's great! Glad to see it worked out for you. Like I said, I'm not an Apple guy so I'm not sure about limitations of the ipad when it comes to usb connectivity, I just knew that it was suggested to plug I/O into direct. If you have phantom power on will it work? Either way, it's good to know that it works with a hub.
