Upgrade to a higher tier Tele? Or not?

Get yourself another Tele. The Nashviles are nice, but nothing that you mentioned is an upgrade from the Baja. My 2006 is a genuine "Tele" treasure.
I've always considered that model, a MIM, priced as it was ($700 in 2006) to be one of Fender's biggest marketting mistakes. I would have paid much more than that once I got my hands on one.

I own a Classic 50s Tele and love it. I'll go for a nice Strat too. The Baja is a fantastic Tele! Don't sell it just because you think you could get a better guitar.

I also own a Classic 50s Tele and it is my favorite Tele. I put a 4-way switch in it and it does everything I need just a bit better than my Baja which is 6.8 lbs so there are lighter ones out there. I would say keep the Baja but keep your eyes open for a lighter one.
