You never said how you like playing the Baja. When you pick it up and play it, does it inspire you ? do you feel a connection? Does it make you want to stretch and play things out of the box , you don't want to put it down ? Thats what a guitar ( instrument) should do for you regardless of specs, cost or where it came from, or what anyone else says or thinks ! LOL

Or is it just another guitar ? What is it about the Baja that has you thinking you want to step up ?

If indeed the BAJA is "your" guitar , it should be the one that all others are compared to when acquiring another. It will be the reference.

Keep the Baja you like and get a Nashville Deluxe or a Strat. You can add a seven-way (or find models set up that way) if you want to be able to grab the B/N. Happy Hunting.

Yep, you are standing right next to that big, black hole of regret. It's easy to fall in.

You're thinking of upgrading to the Nashville but is it really an upgrade? It gives you maybe a couple of new tones but will you like and use them?
I don't know from experience but haven't heard any fantastic licks that you needed the Nashville model to play.

With a guitar as good as your Baja you need to keep it and add to your stable, gotta get a MIM Strat if you don't have one. That guitar adds a million tones to your capabilities.

JMO but I love Strats too.

How can we tell without seeing pics of the Baja??

Ps- keep it.
Ha, you asked for it! And, yes it is MY guitar in the sense that it has been my #1 for several years and I keep coming back to playing it regularly.

I made two changes- the white 3ply pick guard and a set of compensated brass saddles.

Btw. Thanks for asking for a photo 😉

If you like Teles I think you've got to have something like this in the herd. Pretty close to Leo's original concept.

And yes there'll probably be a herd eventually.

Nice strap too!

Keep the baja. I have a Carvin bass that I have thought a thousand times of selling, and 2000 times I was glad that I didn't. It's okay to have multiple instruments, and besides, while replacing a guitar for a perceived greener pasture is something most would caution against, few here will ever try to talk you out of adding guitars and requesting pics.

Keep the Baja, since you like it.

You like big necks apparently, you want something lighter, you're open to getting a pine body, so ...

Get a used 70th Anniversary Esquire. Super light, fantastic neck, killer pickup, great tones. And you can justify the purchase because it's not just another Tele -- it's a one pickup Esquire!

Keep the Baja and shop for a Strat.
Screw that. Get the Schecter. I bought a Tempest Special a while back and was so impressed I followed it up with 3 more. Two Strats and my #1 PT. Modern cuts on a Tele are great.

In all honesty, you should keep the Baja. Any other Tele-like product won’t be the same. Go for a Classic Vibe. They are fantastic!

You didn't mention wanting a Strat but if you consider getting one, the Vintera Modified Strat is the Strat version of the Baja. It has the S1 switch that lets you get all 7 pickup combinations in an easy to use format.

PS: I have both a Baja and this Strat. They are pretty much all I play now.

Strats and Teles complement each other surprisingly well although both single coil guitars

I would play the American Vintage II. If you don’t prefer it substantially over your Baja, then stand pat. Don’t chase something with the idea it might be better for you!
A players series is not going to be better and it’s hard to assess “boutique“ builders.

Your Baja looks gorgeous. Cool lighting. I don't know what other guitars you have. But if you only have a few electrics, money burning a hole in your wallet, and an itch to scratch, perhaps go in a different direction. For example...

Great idea. IME having guitars with big differences rather than small differences is more inspiring, at least to me.

I like the variety, it's not hard to adapt, and I always hear new things and explore them when I grab one I haven't played in a while.

The Baja is as good as anything you've listed.

Making a change would be to get something different more to the specs you mention, not a better guitar.

However, is bad juju to get rid of a guitar you like. Chances you like the replacement as much are smaller than you think.
Many moons ago I went from my only guitar, an early MIM Tele, to having a beautiful AmSeries (or AmStd) Strat. The Strat plays better than the Tele but, still, I often take out the latter and really love it. Best advice would be to keep the Tele you love and add an entirely different guitar. Get the right one and you’ll love ‘em both.
