I had a small saga with this guitar that ended very well for my friend and me. Fair deal for both of us and we're still good friends.

It's a redwood Tele partscaster that some unknown person made. My buddy found it and bought it and ended up selling it to me. I played it and loved it but I didn't like many of the parts. I thought there was a much sexier and beautiful guitar under those cheaper parts.

    Here's a before and after of some of the parts I changed: IMG_8362.jpeg IMG_8494.jpg IMG_8360.jpeg IMG_8491.jpg IMG_8361.jpeg IMG_8500.jpg

Glad that purchase ended well. It seemed like a situation that could potentially go out of control and compromise the friendship.

Very nice. But I actually like the white switch tip that was on there before.

I swapped the tuners for Kluson vintage look and fit locking tuners. Got rid of the white pick guard and got a Fender 4 ply aged pearloid that now matches the color of the binding. Yeah, I lost the white switch tip in favor of a Fender 50s style black one. I kept the 50s style and position string tree button. I traded the Fender bridge for a Callaham compensated one and the electronic cover and knobs for aged nickel ones. Nickel Schaller strap locks and a 3" Franklin strap. The neck plate is brushed nickel and made in USA as well as stamped Made In USA.

I'm going to do some detective work to see if I can find the original maker. I understand it was made from parts by Wildwood in Arcata, CA. I'd like to put a decal on the headstock to match the style I'm putting on a rosewood Strat I'm still working on. That decal looks like this:
    XYsWeEHh.jpg

The JMH 1970 means: James Marshall Hendrix 1970 (the year he died). I want to do a similar one but reading: Electric HCR 2019 "Not A Genuine Fender Guitar" Custom Body.

(HCR 2019 is Humboldt County Redwood 2019)

I have under $1100 in this guitar and I really feel like $1100 is a great deal for how she looks, feels, plays and sounds. I very happy with her. :)

Y'all must get bored down there in the old emerald triangle. Great looking guitar, either way!

Curious about the redwood. Very nice figure. How much does the whole guitar weigh?

That Tele is a work of art. Love the grain and color. I bet it has a nice sound. Perfect guitar for Humboldt county.

Beautiful Tele! If only they had book-matched that flame side...

Why not take the brass ends from some 12 gauge shells and make ya some volume and tone knobs?

Now that gets me thinking about making a rustic steel pickguard with bullet holes.

I know you didn't ask for opinions, but I would get rid of that pearloid pickguard.
It distracts from the incredible piece of wood that guitar body is made from.
