    Heya

Anyone know anything about the Telecaster Daryl Hall is playing in this video, The Last Time?

The is from the 1978 album Along the Red Ledge

So, it looks like a rosewood Tele, but with the pickup selector in the same position as you'd see on a Les Paul, and with 2 additional.. tuning pegs? It's obv not an 8 string, and I sorta think it is not a Fender (the video is not high enough resolution to accurately read the headstock). But I was trying to sort out what was on the headstock, and then looked at everything else, and it didn't make much sense to me.

Anyone know more about this beast?

It almost looks like a Dean logo.
There are two additional tuning pegs, maybe to double the B and E strings?

It's one he built himself. He called it a "mandar" (mandolin/guitar), with eight strings tuned in pairs.

Oh you are absolutely right- a great photo on this Japanese record here-

It's a lot easier to tell it's not a full guitar sized instrument.

    Thanks!

Edit: And while I said it is "obviously" it is not an 8 string, well, obviously it really is! I just couldn't process it as a Telecaster guitar with 8 strings. Which it isn't.
