People refer to Ms. Nicks at the GOAT…OK.
Stevie “Nanny” Nicks.
But they don’t mean greatest of all time.

That is a fun fact. I might give Dan Auerbach another listen if he ever stops trying being the new G. Love and tries to be the new Robert Quine instead.
I heard an interview years ago where the
singer for Journey stated "we are at Pink Floyd's level now, and will just get better."
I love statements like that.
Phish is obviously the bigger act, and has been for some time. But where the jam band scene is concerned, you can't get more relevant than either of these bands. They joined together, along with Col. Hampton & the Aquarium Rescue Unit, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, and others and brought the whole thing to the mainstream public consciousness with the HORDE tours in the early '90s. A lot of bands obviously jammed before that, but "jam band" as a genre with it's own name wasn't really a thing before these bands organized it into a cohesive scene.I understand we're talking about unpopular opinions....but I think it would be pretty tough to convince most fans of the jamband genre that Panic is more relevant that Phish. I can understand one saying they like Panic more...but relevancy? No way. Phish drew 85K to a festival in '99 where they were the only band on the bill. I don't think Panic has ever come close to numbers like that.

I thought this thread was for unpopular opinions.I like Springsteen songs a lot better when someone else sings them.
Well, he certainly encouraged a lot of us to play rock and roll!Lawrence Welk was a major influence on everyone. He may be the single most important music figure of the 20th Century.
The bottom of that barrel is a writhing mess of slimy, sentient rocks and they were all made for lovin' you.Foreigner is the worst, bottom of the barrel 70's fake rock.
but i've expressed this many times before.
...and were you made for loving them? The bottom of that barrel is a writhing mess of slimy, sentient rocks and they were all made for lovin' you.
I see your Bjork and raise you The Sugar CubesSandwiched between Bjork and Yoko Ono.
That would be Morrissey, wouldn't it?What can I say about someone who can sing one note and go a third higher or lower?
