Unable to Edit Posts?

Well I was able to edit that one, but it was just a couple of seconds after posting

The option goes away after a set time. I don't know what that time is - a few hours anyway.

Make post . . . see misspelled word . . . hit edit . . . no joy.

Good thing I rarely make misteaks!

Seems fairly short on here based on my experience elsewhere. I wonder if there is a reason for it or if it is a default software setting.

I've edited misspellings days later. Perhaps they shortened the time in the recent maintenance cycle.

Yes, I've had issues editing recently minutes after posting. Nobody notices missspeled words anyway.

Could it be that you can't edit once a post is replied to?

Another issue. When I post a reply, I don't get a "post sent" message. The computer gets in a thinking loop until I close to program. When I restart, my post has been made.

Last time I edited for spelling or whatever there was about a 24 hr grace period even after a reply, I'm about to test that.
Edit 1: about 6 minutes after post.
Edit 2:about 4 min after edit 1. Maybe a moderator could just tell us the grace period. Or maybe I should search the fine print.
Edit 3: about 20 minutes again. Will not test again until later this aft. or eve.

24 hours sounds about right. Moot point since I can now edit.

Edit: 24 hour edit until lock confirmed. Not sure why you'd lose the edit before then.
