    anyone hear about this

    rick beato is talking about it...first i heard of it

    it basically is a storage place of music master tapes that went on fire...11 years ago...it was covered up and news is coming out about it...they look to be in big trouble and soon law suits will be hitting...here is a small list of bands and performers music masters lost

    Aerosmith, the Andrews Sisters, Joan Baez, Chet Baker, Count Basie, Beck, Chuck Berry, Mary J. Blige, Blink 182, Dave Brubeck, Jimmy Buffett, T Bone Burnett, Ray Charles, Patsy Cline, John Coltrane, Bing Crosby, Sheryl Crow, Neil Diamond, Fats Domino, Jimmy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Peter Frampton, Aretha Franklin, Judy Garland, Amy Grant, Al Green, Guns N’ Roses, Don Henley, Hole, Janet Jackson, Jodeci, Elton John, George Jones, Toby Keith, Ramsey Lewis, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Louvin Brothers, Loretta Lynn, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Loaf, Charles Mingus, Bill Monroe, Wes Montgomery, No Doubt, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Oingo Boingo, Tom Petty, the Police, Sun Ra, R.E.M., Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Steely Dan, George Strait, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Ernest Tubb, Weezer, Kitty Wells, Howlin’ Wolf, Neil Young and Rob Zombie.

    you would have thought they would have digitized it all before , the list is over 700 artists long of original sourced material. tapes vinyl cd master discs. its loss is incalculable to the owners of the music. I dont know how they recover from that....if you can in reality. just a great loss to the musicians.

    I read an article this morning that Sheryl Crow was just notified about her specific losses two weeks ago, even though it happened a long time ago. Serious losses.

    yes indeed...they are being arrogant about it too...its crazy on how unimportant they treated the masters

    yeah rick beato touched on her...a couple b-sides that were never released are gone...no other copies ere made

    those music depositories are like the bank to these musicians, when they get old want to do a re make or remaster a tune its now gone. we will never know the extent of the long term damage

    I read about how Bryan Adams wanted the original master to one of his huge albums that sold like 12 million copies, they want to do a 30th anniversary remaster or something like that. Well...all he kept getting the runaround until it finally was revealed it was gone in this tragic blaze. Fortunately for him, he happened to have (though he'd forgotton) a 1st generation unmastered copy of the original master.

    But truly, this loss in this fire is truly tragic and incalculable. Sad.
