So, I'm an idiot. I decided to take the black finish off my Esquire, and go with a natural wood look. I popped the neck off. Having done that, when I put everything back on the guitar, my action is ridiculously low. I'd had it set up with a medium-high action, but now barring at the 7th fret, all the strings are laying against all the frets. I never thought such a (seemingly) thin layer of poly under the bridge could make such a big difference, if that's what in fact did it.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Is it a truss rod fix?

    Thanks!

raise the saddles on your bridge. yeah, it can be surprising how thick that poly can be

Why didn't I think of that?

Somehow the saddles lowered themselves while I was working on the guitar. Weird. Thanks! That worked.
