I took this picture. Not much to say but I guess I DO have a few questions...
Did you check underneath it?
boats get abandoned in the country around here pretty often... it is weird, they are there for a day or two or three, then you see the police log and someone pours on some gas and poof, burnt. I think nothing happens to anyone.
Nope. What happens in Blocksburg, stays in Blocksburg. (It has a yellow sticker on it that the cops put on it to tell the owner they have a limited amount of time to deal with it or else it's gone.)
"Well, look at that. Somebody done thrown away a perfectly good boat."
Many of those types are done worn out and useless. Way to much money to make them usable. People slide them off and leave it yup to you to pay to get rid of.
The two happiest days in a boat owner's life: the day he buys the boat...and the day he sells the boat.
uh or abandons.
I once took a boat to the dump. It was a sailboat in HORRIBLE shape. It was a neighbor's and it bugged me how year after year it just sat there... so, finally I asked her what the scoop was and she CRIED. She said her husband dragged it home years before with NO intention of fixing it but thought it was worth something. I said, 'if it left tomorrow, would it make you happy?'
don't think I've ever seen a stern drive set up like that on a small tinny?....
People leaving California so fast they don't have time to make sure everything is strapped down.
I think they all said 'headed for colorado cattle country....'
I guess being in the US, the guy mounted a V8 in the tinny....
This post could also work in the thread about "things guitar players say".
And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
I said me upon my pony on my boat
A rancher friend of mine, whose house was right near the property line, was stunned when he saw the property across the fence being cleared and subdivided.
He put out a request for every old boat he could get. With his backhoe he buried them, bow first along the fence for a hundred yards or so, Cadillac style.
None of those adjoining lots have sold.
Apparently there's no shortage of old boats around Victoria TX.
I gotta get a picture of this.
I used to build ali boats for living.. been sailing and fishing most of my days on boats.... and play guitar...
