I put my new tele body outside in order for the conductive paint in the cavities to dry faster.
Sunshine faded the color all around where the top was masked in tape.
    Ughhhhhh

Maybe put it back in the sun and at least it should fade the parts that were under the tape to match. Thats weird tho....may be it;s residue left from the tape. I would try a fine polish and see if it comes out. Like megs #7 or such. I've even used metal polish on guitars and it works just fine.

    Natural Sunburst right there.

Just paint or did you have some clear on top. Clear may have just got cloudy and a little sanding will bring it back.

Bummer. I'd definitely try the polish. Good luck.

Methamphetimines or methadone. Nothing like trying to kick a drug habit to make you forget about your guitar woes....

    Joking.

Actually it is (from urban dictionary)

    1. Metho is defined as something relating methylated spirits such as denatured alcohol.
An example of a form of metho used as a prefix is in the word "methanol."

I looked at Megs #7 and it seems to simply be a gloss. Is that correct?
Wouldn't I want something with a bit of bite?

No, it's a fine abrasive, a FINAL polish meaning the final grade of abrasiveness that leave the finish to it's final and max gloss.
